The October 20, 2026 Bowling Green Board of Commissioners meeting approved several purchasing and contract actions. Commissioners unanimously authorized a change to the RATP Dev USA transit contract to increase weekday fixed-route service, at a reported cost of approximately $218,183. They also approved a $341,781 sole-source Motorola Solutions purchase to replace four 911 dispatch servers and upgrade the Premier One system, and a $220,724.12 cooperative-purchase order through Ridget Network Group for equipment and upfitting for 14 police vehicles. A $30,000 change order for GPD Group’s stormwater-utility implementation work was approved; the work includes billing integration and is funded from the stormwater fund. The commission also approved the annual multi-year capital improvement plan, noting that only the FY2027 portion is established by the adopted budget and later-year projects remain subject to future decisions.

The commission approved $21,500 in the first round of downtown improvement matching grants, with a 50/50 match, and authorized grant applications for the Hopson Grove Petal Park project and $29,237 in federal Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant funds. The annual TIF calculation was approved, including distribution of approximately $2.753 million under the revenue-sharing agreement. Numerous employee appointments and promotions were also approved. During public comment, a speaker raised concerns about the Police Department’s Flock automatic license-plate-reader data practices and requested that expansion be paused; no action was taken on that request.
