The WUSD Board of Education Policy Committee met on August 12, 2026. A representative of Neola demonstrated the district’s new policy platform, developed after reported reliability problems with BoardDocs following its acquisition by Diligent. The platform is designed to be more accessible on mobile devices and to support stable links to individual policies, document exports, and activity recovery. The district has already linked to the platform from its website; a possible Neola agenda product was mentioned as a future offering, with an announcement expected in October and a potential January launch. No contract award, purchasing decision, or related spending amount was identified.
The committee discussed administrative guidelines, including referring struck language on searches to legal counsel for review, and supported advancing proposed bereavement-leave language for a first reading after legal review; the proposed additional leave would not be deducted from general leave. Screen-time policy changes were generally supported for a first reading, with clarification of the definition of administrative staff to be developed in an administrative guideline. The committee also reviewed future agenda work and scheduled its next meeting for September 14. No other procurement activity was identified.
