08/19/2026 Fiscal Committee Meeting

The WUSD Board of Education Finance Committee met on August 19, 2026. It reviewed DH Transportation’s special education transportation contract for 2026–27, which carries a 4% rate increase in line with the district’s other transportation contract and current transportation costs. The committee supported moving the contract forward to the full board; a motion was made and seconded. Members also discussed the timing of transportation procurements: the district’s existing Rightway contract runs through the end of the 2027–28 school year, and staff intend to issue an RFP when it expires, subject to the contract’s notice requirements.

The committee reviewed ClearGov dashboard usage and noted the district is already committed to $8,800 per year for 2026–27. Members favored continuing to promote the dashboard and reviewing usage later in the year before making a future continuation decision; no new spending action was taken. The committee also discussed bringing the long-range facilities plan and deferred-maintenance costs to a future meeting, tentatively in September, but made no funding or procurement decision. Other discussion covered school safety response protocols and access to safety-drill records.
