Mukwonago Area Schools’ budget hearing, annual meeting, and school board meeting on August 17, 2026, reviewed the proposed 2026–27 budget and capital program. The district proposed a 7.9% tax-levy increase, from $34.698 million to $37.3 million, and reported a balanced $68.3 million general-fund budget. Capital and debt plans include setting aside $800,000 in Fund 41 for building projects, levying $7.2 million for referendum debt payments, and completing the Park View Middle School project through Fund 49. The annual meeting also authorized the board to purchase student accident insurance, acquire real estate through purchase or condemnation, and dispose of tangible property no longer needed for school purposes.
The board approved a resolution establishing parameters for the sale of up to $7 million in general-obligation promissory notes to finance the middle school project; the district expects competitive bids from banks and private investors, with the lowest interest-rate bid selected. The board also approved an updated sponsorship guide, including a provision that sponsors who withdraw midyear receive no refund. Electors were asked to vote on the proposed levy and other annual-meeting matters, but the transcript does not clearly capture the results of those votes.
