The August 10, 2026, Committee of the Whole/School Board meeting of Mukwonago Area Schools included a finance and facilities discussion on the final $7 million of borrowing authorized for the middle school project. The district has already borrowed $82.1 million of the $89.1 million authorization. Its financial adviser recommended issuing the remaining debt with a nine-year maturity, illustrated at about 3.86%, rather than a 20-year maturity at about 4.6%, while retaining flexibility to pay down principal early and extend any remaining balance later. The adviser cited favorable interest rates, 9% property-value growth in district communities, and estimated project investment earnings of about $3 million; the district was estimated to be about $4 million ahead of original planning assumptions. No borrowing resolution was adopted at this meeting: a parameter resolution is planned for the following week, with a possible market issue in early September if rates remain favorable.

The board also reviewed a revised sponsorship guide for school facilities and activities. The football stadium naming rights are committed through October 2038; the West Gym is listed as available at an asking price of $100,000 over 30 years, and other options include gym signage and performing arts center seats. The guide was presented for further discussion, not approval, with additional information expected at a later August or September meeting. Other actions included approving recommended hires and resignations, new policies related to Act 89, the revised co-curricular handbook—which administration said would produce annual savings, without stating an amount—and revised employee handbooks. The meeting also included a presentation on the district’s mission, vision, values, and workplace trust practices; no other procurement awards or purchases were identified.
