The Oregon Village Board meeting on August 3, 2026, reviewed the proposed Bethel Green Acre Park master plan presented by JT Engineering. The board’s motion to approve the plan was defeated 4–3, with cost and debt capacity cited as concerns; members discussed a plan estimated at about $1.5 million and proposed returning with lower-cost alternatives, with a suggested range of roughly $750,000 to $1.2 million plus contingency. Possible use of park impact fees and retaining the plan’s nature-focused features were also discussed, but the board postponed further direction pending its capital improvement plan review. No engineering contract award was made.

Staff presented the draft 2027–2036 capital improvement plan, totaling approximately $172 million over ten years, with about 70% for water, sewer, streets, and stormwater infrastructure. Major projects include the senior center, Wolf Street reconstruction, wastewater treatment plant work, and a water tower; staff said updated equalized-value estimates bring projected peak debt use to just below the village’s 75% self-imposed limit. The board reviewed the plan without taking action. Vouchers were approved, including $9,050 for Dane County dog tags as a pass-through payment. The board also approved hiring an assistant director for the Oregon Area Senior Center; no other procurement awards or vendor selections were identified.
