The School District of Menomonee Falls held its annual meeting and budget hearing on September 14, 2026. Electors approved the 2026–27 tax levy at the maximum amount allowed by law, as recommended by the school board: approximately $33,861,262 for the general fund, $4,165,638 for debt service, and $1,587,468 for community service, totaling $39,614,368. District officials reported that the proposed budget is balanced, with an approximately $1.9 million shortfall covered using healthcare and retirement reserves, and that the 2025–26 fiscal year ended with a balanced general fund and a roughly $1.6 million increase in fund balance, about $1 million of which is designated for specific purposes.

The district highlighted significant facility needs, including more than $30 million in deferred maintenance, roof leaks, outdated HVAC systems, and parking lot and playground work. Officials described ongoing long-range facilities planning and a forthcoming community survey to inform operating and capital priorities; no new contract awards or specific purchasing approvals were identified. Electors also approved routine authorizations for the board to manage or dispose of district property and to lease suitable buildings and sites not needed for school purposes. The meeting additionally approved freezing board-member salaries at current rates and reimbursing eligible travel expenses.
