The City of Franklin, Wisconsin Parks Commission met on August 10, 2026. Residents raised concerns about rental cars being collected from Christine Rathky Memorial Park, fast electric bikes on park paths, and unmowed trails. Commissioners discussed trail maintenance, the city’s limited staffing and budget, and the possibility of organizing a volunteer “Friends of Franklin Trails” group; no trail-mowing expenditure or volunteer program was approved. A motion passed recommending signage at the Pleasant View courts limiting use to 7 a.m. until dusk. One commissioner abstained.

The commission discussed pavilion rental hours and late departures, including possible increases to the $150 security deposit or other penalties, but tabled the issue for further review; no fee or budget change was approved. A motion to approve seasonal Halloween decorations at Franklin Woods, subject to Common Council or city attorney approval, passed by a majority. The commission also planned a September park visit. No contract awards, vendor selections, bids, or purchasing decisions were identified.
