The School District of Menomonee Falls Board of Education Curriculum and Learning Committee met on August 24, 2026. The committee approved recommending adoption of the third edition of College Physics for AP Physics, replacing the older edition to support the course’s modeling-based approach. The committee also approved an overnight trip for six varsity volleyball players and two coaches to compete in a tournament in Middleton on September 5. The overnight stay was estimated at about $150 per room and would be paid from the athletics budget; the team typically travels by district van, though no transportation cost was specified.
The committee heard that the district received a grant from Students in Aviation, a Wisconsin-based organization, for a flight simulator valued at approximately $2,000, expected to arrive the following spring. It is planned for initial use in the STEM Capstone course, with possible expansion to other students; the district said the simulator would be provided at no cost. Members also reviewed a staged curriculum renewal process that includes research, stakeholder input, vendor samples and presentations, and pilots where appropriate, with curriculum work scheduled to balance workload and budget needs. No additional contract awards or specific purchasing amounts were reported.
