CCS Board Meeting - Monday, August 10, 2026

The Cleveland City Schools Board of Education meeting was held August 10, 2026. The board approved two facilities actions: an allocation of up to $13,400 for necessary repairs to Cleveland High School’s softball field, and proceeding with painting and ceiling updates to the Denning Center gym, funded through a Mars Foundation grant. Both motions passed unanimously. The meeting also included approval of 38 policies and a first-reading approval of policy 1.307 to establish a Community Business and Alumni Advisory Council; no vendor selection, contract award, or bid approval was reported. The Family Resource Center presentation described grant-funded improvements under development, including a storybook trail and community garden, and reported spending about $8,000 from a donation to purchase 600 turkeys for holiday meal boxes. The center also reported distributing 700 backpacks at its back-to-school event.
