The October 21, 2026, Charleston County Historic Preservation Commission meeting reviewed two subdivision plat applications within 300 feet of historic resources. For application SBDV-08-26-03508, proposing to divide an existing lot into two lots, the Commission unanimously found the proposal consistent with the cited Cultural Resources Element strategies. For SBDV-06-26-03470, a 3.78-acre property proposed for division into three lots, the Commission also unanimously found the application consistent with strategies CR1–CR15. The Commission’s role is advisory: it cannot approve, deny, or defer these applications; its reports will go to the Planning Commission, which is scheduled to hear both on November 9. Public comments raised River Road congestion concerns on the first application; the second applicant said the plan would retain one River Road entrance and preserve five large live oaks.

The Commission approved the August 19 meeting and workshop minutes and the 2027 meeting schedule. No procurement, contract, or spending actions were identified.
