The City of Madison Alcohol License Review Committee met on October 21, 2026, for alcohol-license business and a follow-up review of Momo Bar and Grill. The committee heard an informational presentation on the city’s Safe Nights impaired-driving prevention program, funded through a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant through February 2028. The program has selected Uber as its rideshare vendor after 8–10 months of contract negotiations; its August pilot provided 47 rides and cost about $1,000. Staff described continued October testing, plans for a broader December campaign, and paid billboard advertising through Adams Outdoor Advertising. The city is also considering local transportation providers and expects to assess ongoing costs before pursuing a future city budget request or other grant funding. No new contract award or procurement vote was taken.

The committee granted a Madison business’s license application by unanimous consent, with a condition tied to the property’s conditional-use permit, and granted a second license application; final council action is scheduled for November 24. Another application was referred to a later meeting unless the applicant appeared before adjournment. During the Momo Bar and Grill follow-up, members and police discussed calls for service, cooperation with investigations, security, and license conditions; the committee discussed possible further review but took no license suspension or condition-change action. The committee also approved an extension for Veil and Vault to complete construction and licensing, and formed an ad hoc work-plan subcommittee. Other reports covered bar capacity and underage-entry checks. No bids, capital projects, or other purchasing decisions were identified.
