The City and County Neighborhood Commission Office’s Nuʻuanu-Punchbowl Neighborhood Board No. 12 regular meeting was held October 21, 2026. The main infrastructure update was from the Board of Water Supply on its water-system improvements project: State Historic Preservation Division approval had been received, and the design for service laterals was revised to improve corrosion protection and reduce leaks and main breaks. The contractor is awaiting construction materials, with work expected to begin in January 2027, subject to unforeseen circumstances. No contract value, vendor award, or procurement vote was reported. The city’s follow-up on Pacific Heights Road sidewalk drainage repairs also remained pending, to be scheduled by DFM when resources and manpower are available.
The board discussed community safety and infrastructure concerns, including stream grates and ducklings, the Punchbowl cesspool project, tree hazards near Pali Highway, and a possible on-leash dog policy at Nuʻuanu Valley Park. No new spending or procurement actions were taken; the park item was retained for further discussion. The board approved its September meeting minutes without objection and noted vacancies on the board.
