At the School District of Janesville Board of Education meeting identified in the agenda as Oct. 13, 2026, members received an update on the $151.8 million 2024 facilities referendum. JP Cullen and architecture/engineering firm EUA reported that Phase 1, budgeted at $42.2 million, came in about $2.6 million under budget; the Madison/Roosevelt Phase 2A package, budgeted at $17.8 million, came in $561,000 under. The team described using alternate bids and ongoing cost monitoring to add work such as Wilson window replacement, LED lighting, Roosevelt electrical and storm-sewer improvements, and gym windows. Washington work was paused or rescheduled following spring flooding. District staff said any remaining referendum funds could be considered for Washington only after the originally committed work is completed. No contract award or procurement vote was reported; the agenda itself was approved unanimously, 9–0.
The Finance, Buildings and Grounds report also discussed replacement of a failed chiller at Craig and planned replacement work at Parker, targeted to be operational by spring 2028, with Fund 46 identified as a possible funding source. Separately, the Personnel, Policy and Curriculum Committee reported that Mercy Health was the leading contender for a possible employee on-site or near-site health clinic based on information gathered through an RFI process; this was a preliminary status update, not a contract award. The meeting also covered enrollment, student achievement, and school activities, with no additional procurement actions identified.
