The Beaver County Commissioners’ October 21, 2026 work session previewed 25 resolutions for the following day; no votes or contract approvals occurred during this meeting. The agenda includes an agreement to retain bond counsel for a planned county bond issuance. The selected firm is new to the county’s bond work but has worked with its human services team. Other anticipated agreements include drug task force and emergency services unit arrangements with Aliquippa and Hopewell, and funding for a school safety and security coordinator through the intermediate unit.
The commissioners also reviewed the Elections Bureau’s new election-results website, selected through an RFP that received five proposals. The web-based service is intended to improve accessibility and provide automatically updating precinct-level results; it is expected to go live for the November election. The board discussed $281,000 in state Department of Agriculture food-voucher funding administered through the Salvation Army, and a proposed five-year tax abatement for the Legacy Bricks affordable-housing development. No decision was made on the abatement; county officials requested parcel numbers and clarification of the requested exemption period. Commissioners also discussed a county-supported after-school program and plans to move unclaimed remains to a mausoleum at Beaver Cemetery beginning in January.
