Brentwood Planning Commission meeting, October 20, 2026: The Commission approved design review for two commercial buildings totaling 5,775 square feet at 498 Fairview Avenue, including a dental office and a second building for a future tenant. It also approved design review and a conditional use permit amendment for Celebration Center to add four modular classrooms totaling 3,840 square feet and relocate three storage containers; the expansion does not increase the facility’s approved student capacity. Commissioners discussed design consistency and costs but added no extra design conditions. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or purchasing decisions were identified.
The Commission recommended that the City Council adopt a zoning amendment reinstating Sub Area M at 50 Birch Street, correcting an apparent omission from the municipal code; the amendment does not authorize development. In an informational report, a commissioner noted that Measure J’s existing 5-cent sales tax supports road construction and expansion, and that a future measure would seek to maintain the same rate rather than increase it.
