# Community Art and Design Committee - October 20, 2026

**Body:** City of Salina
**Date:** October 19, 2026
**Jurisdiction:** SLED

The City of Salina Community Art and Design Committee met on October 20, 2026. Members approved the September minutes and welcomed new committee members. The committee received updates on public art: the fire station sign is installed; ceramic tiles for another project are being fired; and the sculpture “Poco Poco,” whose base was repaired by Calvin’s Customs, is expected to return to a new location along a Jerry Ivey Park walking trail. Staff noted that accelerating another project would increase costs, but no amount, spending approval, or procurement action was presented.

The committee also discussed an upcoming cultural-plan study session led by Keen Independent Research, a creative-business workshop, and public art and cultural experiences in Bentonville. Members were encouraged to review the cultural-plan findings ahead of the November discussion and annual goal-setting. No contract awards, bids, budget allocations, or other procurement decisions were identified.
