The Kootenai County Board of County Commissioners’ October 20, 2026 business meeting approved several spending and procurement-related items. Commissioners approved continuation of the county’s non-emergency medical transportation partnership with Kootenai Health, which supports local-match contributions for federal transit funding; discussion described the agreement as typically four years, while the motion was stated to expire September 30, 2027. The transit department also said it expects to bring forward a 2027 purchase proposal for paratransit and route buses. The board approved two airport ground leases for development, including one reported at 24,723 square feet with annual revenue of about $6,774 after a first-year 50% discount; approved a $9,100 FY2027 boat-house lease with Hagen Marine Group; and approved an Altered Aspects LLC contract for hazardous-fuel treatment on 21.25 acres under the Landowners Assistance Fire Smart grant. It also accepted a $5,000 Walmart Spark Grant donation for the Sheriff’s Office Holidays and Heroes program.

The board approved equipment trade-ins toward FY2027 Sheriff’s Office purchases: pistols and related components to Arms Unlimited, and 14 rifles to Oregon Rifle Works. It also approved an antenna-collocation agreement with the City of Coeur d’Alene for the city’s traffic-signal network. Payables for October 12–16 and jury-panel payments were approved; the transcript’s payables total is garbled, while jury-panel payments were stated as $77,710. Commissioners discussed proposed reclassifications and compensation for two emergency-management positions, including adherence to HR’s evaluation process and the option of third-party review; the transcript does not capture a final vote on that item. No contract value was stated for the fire-treatment work or equipment trade-ins.
