Knox County Commission non-voting agenda-review workshop, described in the meeting as October 19, 2026 (the metadata lists October 20). Commissioners discussed a proposed roundabout near Martin Mill and Tipton Station associated with Dr. Horton development. County staff said the developer had agreed to pay 100% of the project, while the Commission was being asked for legislative authority to proceed with right-of-way and easement acquisitions; staff said acquisition would occur later and that a community meeting was being planned. Staff also said development approvals would require sewer and other utility arrangements. No votes were taken at this workshop.

Commissioners reviewed a proposed ordinance on county-defined-service grants to nonprofits. The proposal would set a $10,000 audit threshold and require disclosure of certain highly paid employees; members discussed whether the threshold could impose excessive costs on smaller recipients and noted that county internal-audit access is already included in current contracts. No decision was made on the proposal. The workshop also included interviews for Ethics Committee vacancies and discussion of a possible public hearing concerning a Board of Zoning Appeals appointee; neither discussion resulted in a vote during this meeting.
