The Greensboro City Council meeting on October 20, 2026, included closed-session discussion of the city manager’s performance; afterward, council reported that the manager had declined a merit raise for FY 2026–27. Council unanimously approved the consent agenda and several annexation and original-zoning items, including properties and rights-of-way associated with the East Vandalia Road project, which staff said would allow the city to widen and maintain the road. Council also approved local historic landmark designations for the North State Mailing Company building and the Pilot Life Insurance Company campus. No contracts, vendor selections, bid approvals, or specific procurement spending were identified.

Council adopted resolutions honoring Robert T. “Pat” Patterson Sr. and recognizing North Carolina A&T’s centennial homecoming. Members also requested a joint city-county discussion of winter services for residents experiencing homelessness. The city manager said Gate City Boulevard construction would pause during homecoming to keep travel lanes open. A presentation on the Downtown Greenway and development around it cited more than $612 million in private development completed or planned, but this was informational and did not involve a council funding or procurement action.
