At its October 20, 2026 meeting, the Soquel Creek Water District Board approved a revised conditional will-serve letter for a proposed 121-unit development near Soquel Drive, comprising 105 single-family homes and 16 accessory dwelling units. The approval is an initial step; infrastructure needs, metering, fees, and water-use estimates will be addressed in a later unconditional will-serve process. Staff estimated potential use at roughly 30 acre-feet and noted that separately saleable units must be separately metered under district policy. The board also accepted, with minor corrections, a completed classification and compensation study by Public Pay (formerly Ralph Anderson Associates), and approved a successor memorandum of understanding and salary table for the mid-manager group. No dollar amounts for these items were stated.

The board approved a biennial update to the district’s conflict-of-interest code, including changes to designated positions and filing procedures. Staff also reported that new state bills taking effect around January 1, 2027, will require specified review of proposed data centers’ water demand and water availability, and require urban water management plans to address data-center demand. The consent agenda was approved; no other procurement awards or bid approvals were identified.
