At its August 12, 2026 meeting, the Marion County Board of Commissioners approved the consent calendar. Procurement and spending approvals included a $1,002,331.14 invoice to Brown & Brown Insurance Services for renewal of the county’s property insurance policy with National Fire and Marine Insurance Company, effective July 1, 2026 through July 1, 2027; a $3,828,500 supplemental project agreement involving the Oregon Department of Transportation, Marion County, and Polk County; and a $399,569.24 engineering and related services contract with David Evans and Associates for surveying and design of a landslide mitigation and geotechnical solution at North Fork Park, through March 31, 2029. The project agreement was expected to use approximately $3.435 million in federal funding and $393,186.95 in Polk County funding. The consent calendar also delegated specified agreement and payment authority and appointed managers for the intellectual and developmental disabilities program. The board approved the calendar by motion and vote.

The board also approved a noise variance for an August 23 employee appreciation event, and heard an update on the county’s legal challenge to the Army Corps of Engineers’ Detroit Lake drawdown policy. Commissioners discussed the recently opened sheriff’s evidence building and county facility investments, but no new contract or spending action for that building was identified in the transcript. The partition variance hearing was closed after the applicants withdrew their application; no further action was taken on it.
