The North Hudson Park Board meeting was held August 18, 2026. The board approved the June 16 minutes and approved the July 21 joint-meeting minutes contingent on adding the missing attendees. Procurement and capital-planning updates included the village’s approval of Northern Natural Gas’s boring request at Fairy Landing Park (a reported 6-inch bore, 230 feet deep, with restoration afterward) and a $12,000 allocation from unassigned funds for oak-wilt management, including removal, disposal, and mitigation. The village also approved parking at Browns Beach—six standard spaces and one ADA-accessible space. Repairs to a retaining wall and slope are planned with village and Department of Corrections assistance; the reported measures include a stone edge and biodegradable erosion mat. No new contract award or vendor selection was made at this meeting.
The board reviewed potential grants, including the Land and Water Conservation Fund (a 50/50 cost share), a Wisconsin DNR opportunity described as an 80/20 cost share, WEDC’s Vibrant Spaces program, Quick Trip CARES, and HUD Community Development Block Grants for bathroom modifications. No applications or awards were approved. Members discussed narrowing park priorities for the 2027 budget and the 2027–2031 outdoor recreation plan, including pickleball-court fencing, bathrooms, paths and trail connectivity, and a fishing pier; these were planning discussions, not approved expenditures. The board deferred further consideration of proposed tree-management ordinance changes and made no recommendation. The village board had also directed staff to recommend updated parkland-in-lieu fees, which could affect future development-related park funding.
