At the September 1, 2026, North Hudson Village Board meeting, trustees unanimously approved a conditional use permit for the Pepperfest community center and pavilion at 704 Monroe Street North, subject to site-plan, parking, operating-hours, lighting, and other conditions. An operational plan must return to the board for approval before the facility opens. The board also unanimously approved a conditional use permit for a village parking lot at 401 7th Street, with conditions including a grading plan, property-line protection, curb and gutter, a 24-foot drive aisle, a crosswalk, and evaluation of lighting. The permit does not authorize construction or settle funding: the village expects to revisit costs and Pepperfest’s proposed financial contribution after estimates are available, potentially in October.
The board approved monthly claims, including a $25,000 payment to St. Croix County for Kretley hot patching and seal coating, reported as within budget. Public Works discussed seeking a WisDOT traffic impact analysis for Kretley Lane and Highway 35, with costs still to be determined, and reported that the Monroe Street reconstruction—including water and sewer replacement—is now expected to begin no earlier than spring 2028. The village is entering its 2027 budget season; no budget allocation or construction award for the proposed parking lot was made at this meeting.
