The September 10, 2026 Hudson Public Safety meeting approved the annual Third Street Halloween street closure and a new Tribute Avenue Halloween closure; Tribute Avenue currently requires only road barricades, with potential staffing or other costs to be monitored in future years. The committee reviewed traffic-safety concerns and voted to refer funding for a solar speed-display sign to Finance. Staff reported speeding concerns, including an 85th-percentile speed of 40 mph where the limit is 25 mph. The committee also approved removing a yield sign on Red Cedar Pass and collecting data to assess whether a stop sign may be warranted on Tribute Avenue; the motion passed with one member opposed. Other traffic items were deferred for monitoring or future review, including pedestrian access at Carmichael Road and Hanley Road in connection with planned intersection work.
