The Hudson Park Board met on August 4, 2026. The board approved the St. Clair Rowing Club’s proposal to temporarily store its boats and trailer in a bay at Buckeye Garage because algae, weeds, and low water were making its usual launch area difficult to use. The approved option carries a $100 monthly storage fee, consistent with the fee charged to the sailing school; staff will clear the space and arrange access. The board also approved the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Troop 140’s planters near the Boy Scout statue. For a proposed memorial bench at Prospect Park, the board voted to suggest Burke Moses Park or White Camp Park instead; a separate Lakefront Park memorial bench was approved with its location shifted farther south along the walking path.

The board discussed updating its memorial packet to identify suitable locations and priorities for benches, tables, and grills. Staff said a reconstruction project on Locust Street, from First Street to Fourth Street, is planned for next summer and will include proposed small park enhancements to be brought to a future meeting. No RFPs, contract awards, or other purchasing approvals were identified; the meeting also included approval of prior meeting minutes and discussion of park events and outreach.
