The Hudson School Board’s August 10, 2026 meeting included several financial and contracting matters. The board approved a 4.2% rate increase for Safeway Bus Company’s 2026–27 transportation services, as part of a four-year contract extension. It also approved revisions to the sale agreement for the UU property: the buyer’s requirement that the property be annexed into the city before closing was removed, the price was slightly reduced, and closing is targeted for on or before September 11. A consent-item motion cited payment of bills totaling $2,660,062.37. The board also approved the presented fund-balance designations, including reserves for projected cumulative deficits over the next four to five years.

Administrators presented a preliminary 2026–27 budget, which is scheduled for further board consideration in September and October, citing an estimated $2.7 million reduction in state aid and planned staffing reductions of approximately $3.4–$3.5 million. No budget vote was taken at this meeting. The board also approved recording work sessions going forward and considered first readings of policy updates, including changes related to student devices, staff communications, drones, and audio recording on buses. Department reports highlighted academic, extracurricular, technology, and operational accomplishments; no other contract awards or purchasing approvals were identified.
