The Marion County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting on September 2, 2026, included approval of a consent calendar containing several contract, funding, and budget actions. The board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Oregon Department of Administrative Services, not to exceed $300,000, and a $143,633.80 July workers’ compensation invoice to Canon Cochran Management Services. It also approved an amendment reducing the county’s federal ARPA allocation by $1.5 million, to a new total of $1.5 million, for the Detroit Marina Excavation and Resiliency Project; an amendment to the Greystone Tactical services contract, extending its term through December 31, 2027; and continued secure, non-emergency transportation services for people transitioning from the Oregon State Hospital through September 30, 2027. The consent calendar also included 2027 health-insurance renewal recommendations and classification changes that increase annualized base wages by $35,755. The consent calendar was approved, although the transcript does not clearly capture the vendor or contract amount for the transportation services.

Sitting as the Brooks Community Service District governing body, the commissioners approved a 10-year agreement under which the district will purchase raw well water for distribution to Brooks customers; commissioners described it as part of an ongoing ARPA-funded water project. The board also proclaimed September 2026 Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and appointed Laura Holloway to the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee. Public comment focused substantially on county employee bargaining, wages, and health-insurance costs, but no bargaining or spending action was taken. Homelessness was also raised; commissioners offered to connect the speaker with relevant resources, with no funding decision announced.
