The Village of North Hudson Park Board meeting was held October 20, 2026. No contracts, vendor selections, or procurement awards were considered. Public Works reported that Department of Corrections crews would continue removing invasive buckthorn from village parks. The board also discussed EPA soil sampling for possible lead contamination near Fourth Street and Glenn Oaks Park; results were expected to take several months. The proposed 2027 budget includes a request to expand the ice rink, but funding had not yet been approved. A concept plan for Fair’s Landing and Summer’s Landing was also discussed as a potential budget item to help define improvements and future funding opportunities.

The board approved the September 15 meeting minutes and passed a motion authorizing staff to prepare and submit the Tree City application, subject to confirmation that program requirements are met; any necessary ordinance changes or funding commitments would go to the Village Board for consideration. Discussion of a Friends of the Park group was deferred to the next agenda for further work on its purpose and boundaries. The board continued reviewing the outdoor recreation plan, including park maintenance costs, grants and donations, accessibility, habitat improvements, and potential development at Fair’s Landing and the Lake Mallalieu basin. No spending authorization or contract award was made at this meeting.
