The Hickman Mills C-1 School District Board of Directors meeting on September 3, 2026, included financial and operations reports and contract actions. The district reported a $90.5 million approved budget, with approximately 10.7% of anticipated annual expenditures incurred through August 31. Regarding the Cerner TIF, $6 million was awarded overall, but only $419,000 was then available to draw down; approximately $184,000 in reimbursement for invoice 5 was pending. The board approved a partnership with Show Me Therapy to help staff speech and language therapy positions at $81 per hour, and approved a partnership with Imit Learning to help fill special education staffing vacancies. The district also reported that stadium lighting work had been completed and that it had transitioned financial audit services from Westbrook to MAR and Company. Renewals for SpedTrack and Sherwood were presented for consideration at the September 17 meeting, not voted on this evening; meeting minutes, bills, and check registers were also scheduled for later board action.
The board affirmed its acknowledgement of policy BBFA, which staff said must be formally read every two years under Missouri Ethics Commission requirements. A motion to reinstate board committees failed for lack of a second; members discussed quarterly staff reports as an alternative. The meeting also featured students describing their paid internship experience at the Mill Cafe and district updates on student programs and operations.
