At the August 25, 2026 Georgetown County Council meeting, the consent agenda included several procurement actions: Coastal Asphalt LLC task order 13 for $21,180; a Public Works boom mower purchase from ATMAX Equipment Company for $284,889.91 under South Carolina state contract 440032503; a Peterbilt 567 tri-axle dump truck from Larson Group/Peterbilt of Charlotte for $259,260; an award to the sole responsible offeror, No Limits Recycling LLC, for used lead-acid battery pickup and recycling at its quoted rates; and a downtown Pawleys Island streetscape plan contract with the highest-ranked firm, Thomas & Hutton Engineering Company, for approximately $196,500. The transcript does not clearly capture a separate vote on these consent items. Staff also reported $1,269,005 in FY2026 development impact-fee collections, with nearly $2.1 million available across the fee categories; transportation funds support street and intersection improvements, and collected fees must be spent within three years.

Council approved on third reading an amendment extending the term of the joint Georgetown–Williamsburg County industrial and business park agreement for the SR Georgetown solar project from 35 to 60 years from its 2018 effective date, to align with the project agreements and preserve county revenue. Council also passed a resolution certifying a North Fraser Street property as an abandoned building site; staff clarified this certification does not itself provide a tax incentive or approve development. The proposed Mariners Walk rezoning and plan for up to 403 units was deferred to the next meeting for further review, including traffic, access, and open-space concerns. First readings were given to a FY2027 budget amendment and a stormwater management ordinance amendment.
