The Ozark Tigers Board of Education meeting on August 25, 2026, included approval of the district’s tax rate and several spending-related items. The board approved a total levy of $4.14 per $100 of assessed valuation, comprising an operating levy of $3.3859 and a debt-service levy of $0.7541 after a voluntary rollback. The district reported assessed valuation of just over $86 million, up about 3.9% from the prior year. The board unanimously approved a change from Cox Health Plans’ fully insured coverage to a self-funded employee health plan using 90 Degree Benefits as administrator, Levvenity as pharmacy benefit manager, and First Stop for virtual visits; the plan is intended to maintain employee costs and benefits while expanding access to Mercy Health Systems. The presenters estimated that the district would have saved about $200,000 under the plan during its worst claims year in the data reviewed.

The board also unanimously approved Pomp’s Tire Service for bus tires; no total expenditure was stated. It approved amendments to the 2026–27 budget, including adjustments to federal and career-technical-education budgets, a $5,000 addition for band supplies, and funding for previously discussed farm livestock purchases. Separately, the district recognized a $5,000 donation from Integrity Landscapes for materials and labor for South Elementary’s outdoor classroom. The preliminary annual financial report showed a 25.22% operating reserve; the district said its audit by KPM would be presented later. No contract amounts were provided for the health-plan change or tire-service approval.
