# Senior Citizen Commission Regular Meeting Livestream 10/20/2026

**Body:** City of Encinitas
**Date:** October 19, 2026
**Jurisdiction:** SLED

The City of Encinitas Senior Citizen Commission met on October 20, 2026. The clearest procurement-related item was a City call for Southern California mural artists to submit qualifications for a large-scale mural at the Encinitas Skate Park; submissions are due November 20 through the City website or by USB drive. No contract award or bid approval occurred. Staff also reported that the City budgets $200 for the Senior Service Award trophy. The Commission deferred approval of the 2027 award program dates and nomination process until its November meeting while it continues considering partner organizations and an online submission process.

The Commission unanimously approved the September meeting minutes and a proposal to recommend courtesy parking spaces for visitors age 70 and older near the Community and Senior Center; the proposal does not authorize spending, and a letter for Commission review is to be prepared for City Council and Parks and Recreation staff. Other discussion included One Safe Place victim services, library programs, senior outreach and transportation resources, and senior center operations. No other procurement activity was identified.
