The City of Worcester Citizens Advisory Council met on October 20, 2026. Members approved the September 17 meeting minutes and interviewed applicants for several city commissions. The council voted unanimously to advance applicants for the Human Rights Commission, the Commission for the Preservation of Historic Artifacts, Relics, and Military Memorials, the Commission on Homelessness, and the Community Preservation Committee to the next step in the city’s HR process. Applicants discussed community engagement, care of memorials and parks, and homelessness services. No contracts, purchasing decisions, or budget allocations were discussed.

The council discussed recruitment and outreach, including planned engagement at Holy Cross and a Worcester Academy Halloween event. Members also began planning for the next council chair selection, noting that the current chair’s term ends in March. The city representative will circulate the chair and co-chair responsibilities, and the topic will remain on future agendas; members also requested that next year’s meeting dates and expiring terms be discussed at the November meeting. Reappointment interest was confirmed for some members. No procurement activity was identified.
