The Beverly City Council’s regular meeting on October 19, 2026, took up several property, utility, and licensing matters. The council approved the Millbrook Road easement and public-way layout actions, with the layout acceptance recorded as passing 8–0. National Grid petitions to install underground facilities on Rantoul, Elliot, Woodbury, Dane, and Lothrop streets were referred to Public Services; public hearings for the Woodbury and Dane Street petitions were set for November 23. The council also approved a waiver related to an affordable-housing unit and granted a renewal of Michael’s Auto Body’s 2027 Class 2 motor vehicle license. No procurement awards, purchasing decisions, or budget allocations were identified.
During public comment, a resident challenged Beverly’s water-consumption-based sewer billing, and another urged the city to end its Flock camera arrangement, citing contract terms and legal risks. These concerns prompted no action or contract decision at this meeting. The council also recognized Councilor Scott Houseman for his role in preserving and supporting the Cabot Theater.
