The City of Lowell Zoning Board of Appeals met on October 19, 2026, and unanimously approved King Milling Company’s application for four zoning variances at 149 South Broadway. The variances cover front- and rear-yard setbacks, placement of an accessory building in the front yard, and the accessory building’s setback from the main building (approximately 8 feet where 10 feet is required). King Milling President Patrick Doyle said the company plans to add one wheat-storage silo and a small accessory building to increase storage capacity during harvest. No public comments were offered. The approval addresses only the variances; the project is expected to go before the Planning Commission for site plan review. No procurement, contract award, or public spending action was identified.
