The Marshfield Plan Commission met on October 20, 2026. It approved the minutes of its October 12 special meeting and August 18 meeting; the motion passed without opposition. The Commission reviewed right-of-way dedications associated with certified survey maps for properties along McMillan Street and St. Joseph Avenue. Public Works explained that the dedications—seven feet along McMillan and two feet along St. Joseph—would reserve land for possible future road widening, with no current widening plans. A commissioner expressed support for the Board of Public Works approving the dedications; the Board of Public Works is responsible for the approval, and no formal Commission vote on the item was recorded.

The Commission also reviewed Wisconsin DOT-proposed changes to the city’s functional classification map, including upgrades or downgrades to several roads based mainly on traffic counts. The classifications affect eligibility for state STP-Urban grants, which are available for collector-class roads and higher. Members raised questions about UTV routes and whether the proposed McMillan Street reclassification could affect right-of-way requirements. Public Works will take the map to the Board of Public Works as presented, and a commissioner suggested that the city revisit Chapter 19’s right-of-way dedication requirements. No contracts, vendor selections, purchasing approvals, or other procurement activity were identified.
