📚 Education 🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure Physical Infrastructure Grants & Funding

The Fairport Central School District Board of Education meeting on October 21, 2026, included curriculum updates on health and physical education and special education, followed by continued facilities planning. No contract awards, RFPs, vendor selections, or procurement approvals were identified. Facilities staff reviewed long-range capital-project concepts: an approximately $75 million high-school pool and infrastructure project, potentially put to voters in fall 2029; an approximately $20 million middle-school project, potentially voted on in fall 2032; and an approximately $45 million K–5 project, potentially voted on in fall 2036. These remain recommendations subject to further planning and changing costs and state aid. The district’s planning goal is to avoid additional tax impact while aligning project costs with debt drop-off, reserves, and building aid; staff described targeting roughly 95% aidability.

The board also heard that a transfer-to-capital budget line could fund smaller building projects through the regular budget process, without a separate proposition, and could allow the district to seek building aid; no such spending was approved at this meeting. Potential building work discussed included classroom, kitchen, cafeteria, library and art-room upgrades, building-envelope and accessibility improvements, HVAC replacement, and LED lighting. Districtwide air conditioning was estimated at roughly $120 million or more, excluding ongoing operating costs. The only recorded vote was approval, 7–0, to enter executive session; it was not a procurement action.
