The Bellevue School District regular board meeting was held October 15, 2026. The board received a preliminary 2025–26 year-end financial and October enrollment report. The district estimated a positive year-end result of about $22.9 million, plus or minus $2 million, against a roughly $27 million fund-balance recovery target; staffing controls and lower-than-expected MSOC spending contributed to the improvement. October headcount was 19,392, about 70 fewer students than the prior year but above the budgeted enrollment level. Staff reported that 1,928 nonresident students—about 10% of enrollment—generate approximately $14.5 million in revenue and help stabilize enrollment and staffing. The board discussed requests for more detailed enrollment data by school and the financial and program effects of nonresident enrollment. No procurement awards, bids, or purchasing decisions were identified; a director also raised concerns about interest rates and the timing of future borrowing for building projects, without action being taken.

The consent agenda was approved. The board held first readings of revised policies on dangerous weapons and family and medical leave; members offered feedback for staff to consider before a later reading, but no policy vote occurred. Public comments addressed specialized student services, school safety, literacy, and other district matters. The meeting concluded with a closed session for bargaining planning.
