(2026) 10-20 Planning Commission Meeting

The City of Monroe, Georgia, Planning Commission met on October 20, 2026. The commission approved the agenda and prior meeting minutes. Staff reported that the city’s comprehensive plan update had been kicked off at a recent City Council meeting, with steering committee meetings planned for November through January.

The commission approved a certificate of appropriateness for a proposed QuickTrip convenience store and fuel station at 1110 North Broad Street, subject to submission of a landscape plan. The proposal includes a 6,445-square-foot store and 16 fuel-pump stations. The commission also voted to recommend denial of an environmental variance for a proposed home at 432 Springdale Road, which sought permission to encroach on local stream buffers. These were land-use and development matters; no public procurement, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified.
