The City of Nisswa City Council’s regular meeting was held October 20, 2026. The council approved Change Order No. 1 for the 2026 street improvements, extending substantial completion to November 13, 2026, and final completion to June 1, 2027, with no stated budget impact; Anderson Brothers agreed to honor its pricing through June 1, 2027. The change order passed 4–1. The council also approved Pay Application No. 3 for $67,923.81, payable from 2026 road bond proceeds, for completed clearing, pavement reclamation, storm sewer, and grading work. During discussion, residents raised concerns about schedule delays, erosion, and mailbox reinstallation.

The council approved a three-year county agreement for preventive maintenance of the city’s three early-warning sirens, estimated at up to $600 per siren annually ($1,800 total per year), and approved an agreement with Grund Septic Services LLC for advanced SSTS design review and installation inspections at $450 per service, with costs to be passed to permit applicants. A motion to issue an RFP for engineering services failed 3–2. The current engineering agreement ends in 2026; staff had recommended continuing with the incumbent firm for another three years, but no new contract was approved. The council also conditionally approved NatureLink’s liquor license, pending completion of required paperwork, background checks, and fees.
