The Watertown City School District Board of Education met at Starbuck Elementary on October 20, 2026. The Board approved an updated teletherapy master professional services agreement with Access Teletherapy LLC to address three speech-therapy vacancies. The superintendent said the district would continue seeking certified in-person therapists and could exit the agreement if it hired qualified staff; teletherapy costs are higher, including supervision costs, though no agreement amount was stated. The Board also approved appointing central treasurers for extracurricular funds: $38.10 per hour for Watertown High School and Wylie Intermediate, and $16 per hour for Case Middle School, both retroactive to September 1, 2026. A deputy claims auditor was appointed at $19.60 per hour, effective October 21.
The Board approved raising the maximum estimated cost for Watertown High School asbestos abatement to $300,000, funded from unappropriated fund balance. The superintendent reported current costs of about $254,000, with a contingency for additional work, and said state education department approval was pending; reimbursement could occur through state aid if the project is accepted as an emergency. The Board also approved a reserve plan and other personnel actions, and accepted a donation of 50 football jerseys from Victory Promotions Watertown. The superintendent noted that Starbuck’s recent building improvements were part of the district’s ongoing capital project. No specific new competitive solicitation or bid award was discussed.
