The Hopkins School Board held a school-finance workshop and regular meeting on October 27, 2026. Consultants reviewed district revenue, expenditures, fund balances, enrollment-based funding, and multi-year budget forecasting; no new district contract award or purchase was presented. In the treasurer’s report, the board approved $6,081,555 in disbursements for September 1–30, including $3 million from the building-construction fund amid spending from the district’s $140 million voter-approved referendum. Reported payments included $63,398 to Metropolitan Transportation Network and approximately $20,170 to Kelly Services. The board also discussed a potential annual increase of slightly over $200,000 to the general fund if a constitutional amendment on the November ballot passes.
The board approved temporary easements for Three Rivers Park District’s Bryant Lake Regional Trail project, with no easement price stated. The regional trail project received a $5.5 million federal construction grant; Three Rivers said it expects to bid the work in early 2027, begin construction in 2027, and complete it by fall 2029 or spring 2030. The board also heard that West Middle School’s parking lot is scheduled for renovation in summer 2027, with coordination planned alongside trail work. The easement approval was approved by motion; no other new procurement award was identified.
