At its October 20, 2026 meetings, the Sarpy County Board of Equalization approved eight motor-vehicle exemption items on consent. It tabled the listed homestead-exemption tax corrections until the county receives confirmation from the state tax commissioner that statutory appeal periods have been met. Officials said IRS income verification can take up to 15 months and that some applicants had received incorrect notices; the board passed the motion to table the items pending the required information.
At the County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board approved Resolution 281 awarding the low bid for the I-80 Interchange Northwest project to Valley Corporation for $11,217,487.89. Six bids were received, and the selected bid was below preliminary estimates of roughly $17–18 million. The project includes road improvements near 192nd Street and Capehart Road, in partnership with Gretna, with completion targeted for the end of 2027. The board also approved a $1,564,597 supplemental agreement with Lamp Rynearson for construction-phase administration and an interlocal agreement with Springfield for improvements to Flug Road, 132nd Street, 6th Street, and Main Street. Springfield will cover costs for work within city limits and help collect developer contributions; construction is anticipated in 2027–2028. All three actions passed by motion and vote.
