At the October 20, 2026 regular meeting of the Dallas County Board of Supervisors, the board approved a contract with RDG for a trails master plan, funded through the bike trail fund. The county had received about nine proposals and interviewed three firms; the work is expected to begin in November and take about nine months. The contract amount was not stated. The board also considered a Holmes Murphy statement of work to take the county’s pharmacy benefits out to market to seek savings on administration and employee costs. Because the agreement may involve a fee if no savings are found, supervisors requested more information and asked Holmes Murphy to attend the next meeting; no approval was recorded. The board reviewed a $480,000 annual transfer from the rural basic fund to secondary roads for equipment purchases, as well as additional budget-based transfers to secondary roads and conservation; the transcript does not clearly capture the associated votes or all amounts.

The board also considered renewal of a five-year agreement with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for county well-drilling, reconstruction, and plugging permits, and approved continuing a public hearing on a proposed rezoning after directing staff to prepare revised conditions, including a six-lot limit and a preservation easement. The rezoning was not finally decided. No capital projects were listed under that agenda item.
