The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners’ afternoon session on October 20, 2026, approved a five-year public-private air ambulance partnership with MedTrans. MedTrans will own, maintain, fuel, and operate the helicopter; Pasco Fire Rescue will provide a paramedic, with staffing costs fully reimbursed to the county. Commissioners supported the agreement as a way to improve response times without county operating costs. They also approved a purchase agreement for approximately 153 acres south of Wesley Chapel District Park, with acquisition phased over four years beginning in FY2027 and the first phase funded from parks impact-fee facility and land categories. The board will decide whether to proceed with later phases in subsequent fiscal years.
The board also unanimously approved an ordinance authorizing golf-cart use on multi-use trails and a resolution permitting golf carts on certain county roads. It approved comprehensive-plan and land-development-code amendments, continued one zoning matter to December 8, and approved two zoning items on consent. Separately, commissioners discussed—but took no action on—using CDBG-DR funding for septic-to-sewer work and potentially redirecting about $1 million in state funding to another project. No other major procurement awards were identified.
