The Greensboro Planning & Zoning Commission met on October 19, 2026. No procurement activity, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified. The Commission continued the rezoning case for 5111 Hilltop Road and 2503 West Woodland Way to its November meeting by a 7–0 vote. It unanimously approved annexation of properties at 4001 and 4005 South M. Eugene Street and recommended their commercial zoning; it also recommended rezoning 9068 West Market Street to conditional light industrial zoning. The 503 High Street rezoning to conditional multifamily zoning was approved 6–1, despite neighborhood opposition. The Prescott Street/North Cedar Street rezoning to Central Business zoning, part of a city initiative for properties near the Downtown Greenway with owners’ consent, passed 7–0. The city attorney noted that this request had no site-specific conditions; staff described applicable zoning ordinance standards. Final actions may be appealed within the stated period, while the South M. Eugene zoning recommendation is subject to City Council review.

Staff also presented an update on the Spring Garden corridor plan, describing proposed strategies for multimodal transportation, pedestrian safety, housing, business activity, and public spaces. No action was requested at this meeting; staff expects to seek a favorable recommendation in November, followed by City Council consideration. The Commission also approved the September 23 minutes 7–0.
