The City of Lakeville City Council meeting was held October 19, 2026. The council approved the consent agenda, including acceptance of a second federal SAFER grant to help fund a second round of full-time firefighters and a professional services agreement with RJM Construction for construction manager services for Fire Station No. 3, which is in design. No grant or agreement dollar amounts were stated. The finance director also reported on the city’s 2027 budget and capital planning, and reviewed utility-rate projections: proposed increases of 6% for water, 2% for sewer, 7% for environmental resources, and 2% for street lights. These projections were discussed, not approved at this meeting.

Council members discussed how to use remaining regional sales-tax funds for housing programs, including possible collaboration with the CDA and potential support for affordable senior housing; staff will return with a resolution on that collaboration, and no allocation was decided. A street-light policy review was informational, with staff expected to bring a revised policy to a future meeting. Proposed fee-schedule changes were also reviewed, with public input planned for December 7. No other procurement awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
