The Thomasville City Council meeting, held October 19, 2026, approved a consent agenda that included an approximately $196,000 service and maintenance contract with KGR Utilities to clean 56,000 linear feet of sewer and conduct CCTV inspections. The contract was awarded through a properly advertised piggyback procurement. Council also approved an $800 budget amendment for a donation supporting the Light Up the Holidays event. A separate $60,000 budget amendment, funded from the general fund contingency to support a government-relations contract for pursuing state and federal grants and other opportunities, was approved with one no vote; the city manager said $435,100 would remain in contingency. No government-relations vendor was named in the transcript.

Council approved, 5–2, a vehicle safety and telematics program policy for a pilot using cameras and AI-enabled fleet monitoring; officials said audio would not be used. Other actions included approving a Main Street map amendment, street-address assignment and animal-control ordinance amendments, and scheduling a public hearing on a proposed economic-development grant for Project Bagel. The council also approved changing its November committee meeting date. No grant award for Project Bagel was made at this meeting.
