The Oklahoma City Traffic and Transportation Commission met on October 19, 2026. The commission approved the prior meeting’s minutes, with five votes in favor and two abstentions, and unanimously re-elected its chair and vice chair for 2026–27. Staff reported no recent traffic-signal approvals or installations under the Alternative Speed Abatement Program (ASAP); a commissioner requested the program’s available funding balance. Staff noted that eligible ASAP measures include speed humps, speed tables, and driver-feedback signs, with the city and participating neighbors each covering half the cost. No contract awards, bids, or purchasing decisions were discussed.
The commission approved an always-stop-control request at North McKinley Avenue and Westchester Drive, despite staff’s finding that the intersection did not meet MUTCD warrants. It also unanimously approved no-parking restrictions on the west side of South McKinley Avenue from Southwest 84th to Southwest 89th Street; staff agreed to review whether signage near school and church entrances could address visibility concerns. Discussion also covered pedestrian-crossing safety, accessible parking design, and school traffic circulation, including possible future requirements for on-site vehicle queuing. No formal action was taken on those broader planning issues.
